Mladen Đurović, PhD, Arch.
Born on 7 October 1962 in Podgorica, where he completed elementary and high school.
In 1988, he completed undergraduate studies in Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje, and in the same institution he also completed the degree of Master in Architecture in 2008. He obtained a PhD in Architecture in 2016 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Banja Luka.
His working experience started in 1989 at the Institution “Centar” and the National Institute of Urban Planning and Design (RZUP), in the former Titograd at the position of architect. He continued working as an architect in the following companies:
- “Arcus Project”, Podgorica, 1990;
- “Arcada”, Belgrade, 1991-1992;
- “Incoplan”, Titograd, 1992-1993;
- “Lovćen Invest”, Podgorica, 1993-1995;
- DD “Z&Z”, Podgorica, 1995-1996;
- “Incoplan”, Podgorica, 1996-1999;
- In 1999, as an architect and Executive Director, he founded “Arhitektonski atelje” (Architecture Studio) d.o.o. in Podgorica, where he still works as an architect and runs the company.
As a participant, on behalf of the Architecture Studio, he won numerous awards at competitions for architectural and urban planning designs in Montenegro and in the region. Among those are:
- Competition for a commercial building in Podgorica / Announced by: European Agency for Reconstruction and Agency for Construction and Development of Podgorica / 2004 – First prize;
- Competition for the Republic Square (now Independence Square) / Announced by: Agency for Construction and Development of Podgorica / 2006 – First prize;
- Competition for the Square in Banja Luka / Announced by: Integral Inženjering, Banja Luka / 2006 – First prize;
- Competition for the Square in Danilovgrad / Announced by: Danilovgrad Municipality / 2008 – First prize;
- Competition for the elaboration of the conceptual urban-architectural design of the building of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts in Podgorica / Announced by: Public Works Directorate and the Ministry of Defence / 2008 – First prize;
- Competition for the hotel resort Lazaret in Herceg Novi / Announced by: Imperio Holdings Limited d.o.o. Herceg Novi / 2015 – First prize;
- Competition for the elaboration of the conceptual urban-architectural design of the building of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts in Podgorica / Announced by: Capital City Podgorica / 2017 – Third prize;
- Competition for the elaboration of the conceptual urban-architectural design and the Study with recommendations on the town planning method of the Sadine area in Podgorica / Announced by: Capital City Podgorica, in cooperation with the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro / 2018 – Second prize;
- Competition for the elaboration of the conceptual urban-architectural design of the tourist resort in Čanj / Announced by: Čelebić d.o.o. Podgorica / 2018 – First prize;
